This conference will cover the issues surrounding qualified immunity and unconstitutional convictions. Qualified immunity allows government officials and police to commit crimes and have no consequences simply because of their position of power. Unconstitutional convictions occur when the judicial branch upholds laws that are unconstitutional and/or sentence individuals not in accordance with the severity of their actions.

This conference is set to bring these issues to light and motivate you to care about the inequality that happens because of the power dynamic between the people and the government. The government is supposed to be by the people and for the people, but these justice issues show that is not the case.

Come and hear law experts and the stories of the victims of the justice system at the Windy City Justice Summit. This conference is being put together by motivated students who want to see change. If a handful of students can put a conference like this together, imagine the impact a larger movement could make.

About Us

We are a group of highly motivated University students looking to make a difference. Our mission is to educate the public and lead the charge in the justice reform movement. Even though many of us are just university students, many of us have seen the impacts or personally been impacted by the problems of the injustice that occurs in the justice system. Despite the idea that the United States is the “land of the free,” and that “all men are created equal,” the way justice is handled throughout the country shows that is just not the case. We want to be able to trust those in power, but as long as they can commit crimes or disproportionately take away our rights, that trust is impossible.

We want change.
