About The Author
Frédéric Bastiat was a 19th-century French economist, writer, and legislator renowned for advocating free markets and economic liberty. He is best known for his seminal work, "The Law" ("La Loi"), in which he argues that the law should protect individual rights and private property rather than be used to redistribute wealth or serve special interests.
Additionally, Bastiat's essay "That Which is Seen, and That Which is Not Seen" ("Ce qu'on voit et ce qu'on ne voit pas") highlights the unintended consequences of economic policies and introduces the famous concept of the "broken window."
